ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for becoming a Certified Plastics Practitioner

NOTE: CPSC will no longer be accepting applications for certification at the moment.

All practitioners, who meet the following criteria, are eligible to apply for the Certified Plastics Practitioner (Cert.PP) designation.

GENERAL
Applicants have to be living in Canada to apply for certification (those working in Canada with a valid Canadian working VISA are included). Applicants have to be working in the occupation that they want to be certified against.

EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE

If you possess a High School Diploma (or High School Equivalency) or relevant Post-Secondary Education in a plastics related program you can apply for the following levels of certification. Official transcripts from your educational institution are required.

  • Level 1: With one (1) year work experience in the occupation in question
  • Level 2: With two (2) years work experience in the occupation in question
  • Level 3: With three (3) years work experience in the occupation in question

If you do not possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency or relevant Post-Secondary Education in a plastics related program you can still apply for the same certification levels within the same occupational areas if you have the following years of work experience. Official transcripts are not required.

  • Level 1: With two (2) years work experience in the occupation in question
  • Level 2: With four (4) years work experience in the occupation in question
  • Level 3: With six (6) years work experience in the occupation in question

Applicants can apply for several certifications in SEPARATE occupational areas simultaneously. The applicant will be required to pay a fee for each occupational certification requested.
